nonjic
This is the result of a happy few hours patternwelding over the weekend. pretty tricky but I really enjoyed it Its a slice from the end of a 1"sq x 4" long billet. All the welding went real smooth, except the first, and last. I rushed the very simple last weld, had to chisel it open, reweld, and lost the perfect symmerty I was after . Its my first go at a proper mosaic pattern and Im really pleased with it. Ill accordian cut the rest of the billet, or might cut it into tiles on an angle and weld it up into a blank, I will get less pattern distortion that way Thanks to Mick Maxen who posted a tutorial on how to do this. Im going to have to start coming up with some original stuff soon! Edited June 15, 2009 by mod07

trying-it
John: "Thanks to Mick Maxen who posted a tutorial on how to do this. " Any chance of posting that link for others' who may feel the mosaic bug biting? No way trying to hijack your thread, just trying to keep things on the same page.
