It was forged from an old wide file, hardened very well, quenched in hot water, tempered in kitchen oven 300 celsius for 2.5 hours till a deep blue colour (nice). Handle is made of leather ovoids pierced (24 pieces) and butt peened, as Ka Bar´s; leather is inked with shoery colour mixed little black and lot of brown, then coated three times with liquid parafin (used to make liquid candles) no greasy finish, nice to touch, impervious to water and non slip handle. there is a little filework in the first 1/3 of spine (vine). This is the second knife I made for one friend of me who gave me an anvil, hope not to be the last. 11 3/4 OAL, 7 1/2 blade, leather handle, for rude work. comments welcome. sorry, pic sucks (not as the knife)

Useful tip, I´ll try it. If it takes out wax can take out any grease, for sure

This is a 7 inch blade with an old stag I found in a trash camp and leather spacers, forged from an old file, clay hardened in cold oil, tempered in the ashes, it showed a good hamon.
