  1. Can't post the video that i made. Got the anvil , no marking on it for now i will wire brush it soon to find one. Sound and rebound are great. I have the FORBIDENNN curse
  2. How does it work? Was it made like that or was it modified later?
  3. I'm interested in being a player, i still play d&d on regular basis and back in the day i played a lot of homebrew fantasy/sci-fi world. I personally like sci-fi a lot but il be happy to play in any setting. I can adapt easily to any rules system just let me know witch one you want to use.
  4. I rely like the concrete post, did you put a metal mesh or some re bar in it to reinforce it? I agree that's it is a more permanent solution, how does it work for the sound ?
  5. Nice setup Frosty Is there something between your tripod and the anvil? (wood, rubber...) now that i see the feet of the tripod i understant that it won't tip over. This big flat plate will prevent some of this. Do you fix it in the floor with bolt when your in your shop?
  6. Do you use one with the wood plate on top? Are you making your or buying it form somewhere? Is 3 leg really stable?
  7. Hi everyone, I was wandering what is your favorite kind of stands for your anvils. I know there is multiple choice out there and want to know what make it your favorite. Big log, stomp, 3 legged, 4 legged, a little bit bury in the dirt, on top of the dirt, on top of concrete, hand made from construction lumbers... etc etc... I'm not fixed right now on one to use for my anvil so that's why i want to know what you guys like.
  8. Thanks Charles. Don't worry i don't hold a grudge for stuff like this. Hopefully they don't either. But i agree that high heat can make you do some pretty crazy stuff. Maybe I was drunk after trying to much my bottle opener .
  9. Relax guys, nobody was banned or anything like that. Don't get all worked up over some brown stuff it was just a word. I myself have 3 young kids and they know when a word is not use correctly but i do have to remind you that i was talking about my own work , it's not like someone use offending language to describe MY work. Also i don't call 1 reply to a comment trolling, it was more of a joke to test how you guys would react and now i know, witch is a little disappointing. But it's ok i can work with that an adapt. And Frosty, it was only my first "Laguage OFFENSE" since it's like my fifth post on the forum.
  10. I totally agree with what your saying, i was just joking and i found it funny that my original post got censored for using such a common word. Like i said before if nobody tell me, i won't know that i'm doing something bad. I'm an adult and i can respect the rules and the opinion of others. Thanks again guys.
  11. Thank all for your feedback I'm sorry i did not know that xxxx was censored, let me use more synonyms to see witch one work best : Fecal mater , poop, excrement, caca, defecation, manure, number two, stool, dung, .... anyway the list can go on for quite a while. Il be careful in the future not to offend the young reader with what i call natural body fonction. Thanks for the warning.
  12. This is my first project, considering that i have crappy tools and no experience at all i'm still proud of it. It's ugly as xxxxxx but it work great i even got drunk using it. Il keep this one as a reminder of my progress.
  13. Wow ... really nice restoration job. I wish i had a base/stand like that to put my anvil on.
  14. Don't worry Yves, I already explore all of frosty's design for burners and forge. I took me 6 month before i decided to register on the forum. I built my prototype using is T-Burner. Now i need something bigger and more efficient for the actual body of the forge. Can't find good refractory material around here(brick and ceramic wool to name a few)... i could order online but the shipping is killing me.
  17. Hi guys I'm fairly new to blacksmith and forging but it's been in the back of my head since i was a kid. Now that i'm an adult and i need a reason to get out of the house with my 3 kids ( all girls) i decided to go after my dream and build myself a forge in my backyard. What an adventure, you get addicted to this stuff very quickly. I live in Longueuil , Quebec Canada and you might have notice that english is not my main language. Right now i find it super hard to come up with supply and tools for my forge around my place. I'ts probably because i'm new and i don't know where to look. I'm a very social person and if someone in my area is ready to be my mentor or just share his experience with me i will be rely greatfull. Let me know if you know of a special underground blacksmith store near here.
  18. in the beginning i wanted to go with a coal forge since it's fairly easy to build but i decided to go with propane since i'm very close to my neighbors and the smoke and dust will be a big problem.
  19. Thanks a lot guys. As soon as i have it in my possession i will check for marking, right now it's a my cousin place 400km away. Can't wait to start using that baby. Now i can concentrate on other important piece of equipment.... The Forge.
  20. Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and to blacksmith in general. I'm slowly( with 3 young kids and a new puppy that take a lot of my time) assembling a forge in my backyard and i manage to find an anvil. I was wandering if i made a good deal and is there anything i need to fix on it to make it a good anvil? I paid 200$ for it it happen to be in my cousin backyard for year. Should i clean the body and the face with a wire brush and paint the body with some rust proofing?. Thanks for the reply.
