I got a lancaster #40 hooked up to it now. it is hard to take off the cap even after forging. -

Im going to put a plate with holes drilled in it for airflow. Will clinkers form and block the airflow? Where can I find 10" spiral pipe for venting?

My Coal forge in the making. I used an old hot water tank metal pan for the table. -
After my first time playing with this I realised why the holes on other ones are ground down on the hole edges. Now they are a lot more like ovals... -
My first attempt at a guillotine. It is welded to a 1" solid stock for my hardie. -

Hi Gentlemen, I have enlisted in the hammer time build for this spring conference. My smithy is very small and I am not equipped in the tools required to forge this hammer. I have chosen to forge a Brian Breazeal style hammer. This is my first hammer forging ever so I will be learning a lot and want to take it on a fun but serious note. My main problem is that I don't know anyone in my area that is into blacksmithing. If you would like to help me or know of someone who might be interested please let me know A.S.A.P. This is my steel for the NWBA hammer build for the spring conference. It is going to be a B. Brazeal style hammer. I am hoping to meet a mentor to help me with the forging. I will put on pictures after it is finished. Wish me luck and any advise is always helpful =-) -

I need a good welder, flux core wire, and that will plug in to any outlet. It should also be able to weld tool grade steel along with the regular stuff around the forge. Something very portable that i could just pick up and throw in the truck, no tanks just grab and go! I want to know what you recommend and why!

My first attempt at forging a heart. its good enough to hang just about anything on. My Wife loves it. It has been coated in Bees Wax. -
