LastRonin Members May 14, 201412 yr Author stats It looks good to me. I found out pretty quick though that the cap will rust on pretty tight and be hard to unscrew, not to mention the heat if you're needing to empty it during a forging session. I got around that by having mine extend down into a metal five gallon bucket full of water. The ash, clinkers and what-not fall into the water and cool off, no issues. Clinkers sink.
wildmanz Members May 14, 201412 yr Author stats I would make a counter weighted trap instead of the cap like LastRonin said would happen. And I used a 4in gate valve instead of a butterfly to adjust air flow.
Oregon Duck Members May 20, 201412 yr Author stats I got a lancaster #40 hooked up to it now. it is hard to take off the cap even after forging.
