  1. Hi Owen, Will you be having a Forge-in early next year as in previous years? Vic.
  2. Sadly I'm busy this weekend and probably a little too far away for comfort Have a nice time though guys! Vic.
  3. Probably not such a good deal as I got when exchange rates were better, but if the Euro takes a dive again have a look here: http://www.angele-shop.com/catalog/index.php Lots of good stuff! Also have a look at ebay.de - once you've found out the German spelling for what you're after ... Vic.
  4. John, looking at the pictures again I notice the corners of the stock are quite sharp. Do you use black mild or BMS? Vic.
  5. Looks very similar to this Swiss form: http://www.angele-shop.com/catalog/index.php?cName=anvils-swiss-form Vic.
  6. Nice looking Anvil! Base looks English with a German top - then there's that interesting 45 degree slope! Vic.
  7. Nice pics John, thanks for posting. A Dragon door knocker is something I hope to get round to making myself one day ..... Vic.
  8. Yes, it really was quite that small! Vic.
  9. Some more pics taken on the day: Vic.
  10. Not my Forge, but this was being used at a Medieval Festival I went to yesterday. It was being used to make plate Armour. Vic.
  11. I went to a Medieval Festival at Herstmonceux Castle yesterday and saw a few Blacksmith related bits. I didn't get chance to speak to this guy but wondered how old this Anvil is. Looks the right sort of shape for a 500 year old Anvil? Vic.
  12. Really good info here, thanks to all for sharing! I must get round to making one myself but in the meantime here's a pic of one I saw at a show on Saturday: Don't know who made it but it sure is nice! Looks like it's been made from an old file. Vic.
  13. Hi Frosty, Yes, thats the one. Sorry, I think I was being a bit mean calling it a "stack of bricks" forge! Thanks for the pics, I'm thinking of building something similar and it always help to look at other folks stuff. Thanks again. Vic.
  14. Hi Frosty, You posted a link to some pictures of your excellent "stack of bricks" forge some time ago but I can't find it now! I could have PM'd you for another peak but figured others might find it of interest. Thanks, Vic.
  15. Gosh that induction heater looks good! Does it cost much to run?
  16. Brian, Your tutorials are always so good and the pictures nice and clear. Thanks once again for sharing your knowledge (and skill) with us! Vic.
  17. Thats very nice work Steve, I'd be well pleased with that! :)
  18. Richard, As mentioned Cromwells are a good source of supply for cross pein hammers but they are a little longer than what many would call a blacksmiths "forging hammer". I bought one of these for 60 Euros but you can get something very similar on the same site for half this. Vic. - ANGELE Schmiedetechnik - ANGELE-SHOP If you don't want to look at lots of nice Blacksmithing stuff DON'T click on the link! :p
  19. I'm partial to the odd bottle of Beer or two and have been meaning to make a bottle opener for some time but I'm stuck for inspiration - simple or fancy, show me what you got!
  20. Thanks for posting this urnesBeast as I've had some similar thoughts about forge building. I haven't found anything suitable for a fire pot myself yet and had been considering refractory. I also don't have a welder at home but can join wood pretty good for stands etc! I wish you luck with the next forge and if it works out better please let us know! Vic.
  21. Very nice work, thanks for sharing that.
