Me and the wife took a road trip down to Georgia today to Visit Miss NancyK. I had been talking with her about buying some tools from her late Husband, on the way back from Miss Nancy's I stopped to look at a Anvil that a friend had told me about. Its a Mouse Hole Anvil and weighs around 129 pounds according to the number's on the side. I'm not interested in it and thought I would post a picture on here of it so that one of you all looking for a Anvil might get it.
The face looks fair except for one edge its been chipped pretty good .But can be fixed. The guy lives on top of Look Out Mountain, and if your interested shoot me a PM and I'll give you the Number. the price $ 225.00 -
I sure appreciate the tools Miss Nancy, Me and Laura just got home, On the way home I was trying to figure out how I was going to lift out the anvil with it still attached to the stand, Plus the forge, My son is at the movies and I gotta hit the road and head to Alabama, and he said he would come over with a friend and unload them after the movies. ..but I know how things turn out with the boy. So I was figuring on using my Cherry picker to get them out, And On the way down the country road that we live on I noticed that I was being followed. I pulled in the driveway and this feller gets out and introduces his self and said he has been blacksmithing for along time and noticed the Anvil and stuff, and decided he would follow me and meet me.. come to find out he lives a couple miles down the road from me..After he helped me unload the stuff we got to talking and I think I found me a forging partner. .. The Lord works in Mysterious way's..

This past weekend , me and the wife took a trip to Stan's for his annual hammer in, This was our first one that we've attended. Stan had mentioned a old time tractor show and a big Flea market they had. So on Saturday morning we all went down there, I didn't bring my fun money because I've been saving to buy me another anvil. So I didn't have any cash, Right after getting there I noticed 2 post drills this guy had and I've been wanting one pretty bad, The wife was down the roll from me and I think she noticed my interest, after looking at it and drooling over it for a few minutes I walked over to her and mentioned that I would love to have it.. She asked how much , $ 75. I said, She said let me go talk to him, next thing I know she has done bought me the post drill.. I got a great wife. Here's pictures. it was made by Silver MFG Company outta Salem, Oh..

Looks good Junker, for a second pair, and that's some good advice John has given. I'm still trying to make decent tongs. You can buy the rivets on line at different blacksmith online stores. Just type in tools for blacksmithing and one of them should come up, I deal with a company just outside of Asheville,NC.. they are well known and dependable

Well its all over for another year, Boy what a great time. I had the honor of meeting Stan's family, and Meant Kyle Stan's son in Law, and Curry George, and Keith Garder, and several other's. that I can't remember the names of, Boy's I wished you all could have been there with us. and I can't wait for next years Hammer in at Stan's... Stan thanks for inviting us and thanks for the hospitality.. I think we all need to start calling Stan " Hawk Eye, We got to the huge tractor show/ Flea market, and I was walking around and I stopped at the trailer loaded with all kinds of stuff, as I stood there Stan comes walking up and right away say's.. Look at that post vise laying there, And right in front of me was a seven inch post vise, I don't know how I missed it,,But stan ended up with a great deal.
Here's a YouTube link to a movie clip I made with Picture's and short clips edited together.

seems to me that you could melt the lead and dip out the lead from one hole before going to another hole. or dig a hole beside each place and melt the lead and let it run into the hole that you dug out.
