  1. If anyone in Adelaide is looking there is Thermal Ceramics at Regency Park
  2. Good afternoon I have a Henry Wright which is my favourite anvil, the weight is as stamped at 137lb, my question is if you want a sharp edge wouldn't it be best to just dress down the sides or one side.
  3. Why would you want to swap yours have so much character.
  4. Good morning Thomas, I did try and search the patent and drew a blank. Not being an expert, what are the best ways to search for a patent. I was using dawn vice with the pat No.

  8. Cast steel was only an assumption, it is probably iron.
  9. Just showing off two anvils that I have just acquired, The small one is a Henry Wright at 116lb and in excellent conditions. The larger one is a Peter Wright at 370lb. I got given the cast steel base with the anvil which is also a lot heavier. Is this base used for an anvil or is it far a swage block, the internal size is 15" x 16" and would weigh over 450lb. In the back ground of the Henry Wright is my 467lb Wilkinson
  10. Thanks for your replies, I have enough Kaowool left to put in another layer and then coat again with ITC 100. I do not believe that the coatings I have been using have been very thick. When coating do you do more than 1 coat of of the ITC product. I have also purchased a refactory mortar called fondu and was going to mix this with the vemiculite, the specs on this rates it upto 2350 degrees f. Kast o lite is not readily available in Australia so I might try the fondu mix first and see how I go. Thanks for everyones generous information.
  11. Thanks for the help, with the refractory lining is this straight cement or do you add something like vermiculite to it.
  12. I have a large gas forge with a 1" hybrid burner. I have 3 layers of 1" insulation and ct 100 coated. I find that the kaowool is disintegrating after running for a long period of time, 5 hours flat out. Don't know if this is a normal problem or am I over cooking it. The inner layer only. Thanks for any suggestions
  13. I'm in Australia, the family I got them from was on old buggy builder. No idea what the angled one was for. The dug out one is for a plough head made for the farmers in the district. I was told they are over 80 years old. Cheers
  14. The block was found on a farm in Australia fwhere there was on old blacksmith buggy making business, it is all cast steel and as hard as my anvil. It is older than 80 years old as that is how long the person who owned it family hasnt used the shop for. Definately not cast iron.
  15. I have recently aquired this rotating swage block and hardy tools. Is anyone able to supply any information on its origin and age. It also came with lots of other tongs and swages tools.
  16. I found these large power hammer tooling in an old farm shed. I was wondering if any knows what sort of hammer they would be for so I can try and find a home for them. The key on the bottom is 2.5 inches wide and 10 long. There is 1 male and female set and 1 bottom tool for a plough head.
  17. Just showing of an anvil I was given to replace a small old anvil dumped by a bobcat driver. I do not know what brand it is but it weighs 467lb. This anvil is incredibly hard even on the feet on the bottom when I had to cut a corner of. I have noticed that the face angles down, the base is level, is this normal. I had to make a wheel barrow style base so it can be moved around when needed.
  18. Thanks, could I be a pain and get the Parker part No. I will look up the other web site later as I have been shut out.
  19. Good evening, I have just made myself a Kinyon power hammer and am looking for a3/2 mechanical roller valve for the foot peddle. I was thinking of getting away from the ball valve. I don't seem to be able to purchase a valve in Australia with ports larger than a quarter. Does anyone have a code and or a supplier where I could by one on line. thanks for your help
  20. Good evening all, I live in Australia and are wanting to purchase all the switches and valves on line for a air hammer. I live in Australia SA and need a bit of help finding a reputable store where to buy from. I do have a SMC cylinder 1.5 by 11 inch, I need to mill out the bores to half inch. There seems to be no stock in Australia of parts and need to be imported from the USA. Any help would be of great assistance. Any brand names and part numbers would be good. I think I need a 5port valve, 3 port valve, roller switch, oiler of some sort and a muffler. Thankyou
