  1. I love my Bader B3, but forget the one posted by "Mark" in the tailgate... I tried to buy it,, sent Emails, Phone calls, etc, etc... but the person that posted it wont return calls, emails, or anything, I think its just a GIT, not intending to sell aything only collect our info, Buyer beware. He has posted those add's on other places, and I heard its the same problem there.

the cotee can NOT change contact wheels, they are one wheel only. so get the diameter you want.

I bet it would be great to have a row of grinders set up with various grits and diameters all ready to go.... :D

  2. me too I am hoping for a finished pic, as the new owner is doing all the mounting, as for the rim on the Tsuba I thought about doing it, but it was not in the spec's of the order. When I do a commission tho I have some artistic freedoms, its the clients blade not mine, so I stay close to the requested order.

Thank you all for the kind words.

  3. . By the way if you have one gfi in a circuit, all the receptacles in that circuit, become gfi..

That is not always true, It is only true IF they are wired that way with the side chain, other wise they are just normal recept's. It all depends on how they were wired.

Many people assume and think that idea was true, and they wire their replacement wrong, and can later be surprised! :o
  4. This HT problem is the main reason $50 to $150 swords made of 440 SS are junk, because there is NO way they can be Heat Treated and sold for any profit at those prices. therefore logic dictates they are not heat treated properly if at all. Also lending a bad name to SS for blades, Not because of the material itself, but they way it has been (mis)used to make blades

I have forged 440C and I advise you to take it easy. do NOT rush the moving of the metal, nor thermal cycle, and allow to cool in the hot box, rather than air between forging sessions. and you will have a good start.

Unless you have the HT setup already, Listen to Rich Hale and hire that out for the best result.

  6. If you are most comfortable with TIG then use it. tho I agree a Silver or Copper-Phos braise will be plenty. I love the design, IF you are close I may hire you to make 3 for my house remodel project, But for all I know you are in Russia, making shipping & import costs too high to even ask.

  7. I have not talked to them personally, But they have posted updates on their web site as what is happening at Ellis Custom Knifeworks

If you were to read it, you would be aware of very little I agree.

BUT Would I rather get what I ordered or wait another week or so because they are sending everyone a personal Email. Its a hard call. I myself have not ordered my refractories yet because of this mess out there.

Also if their computer got wet, they may not HAVE the emails at hand.... Just a thought.
