I thought ice breakers were big old boats? Seriously I can't remember the name of the disks I use off hand . I get quality ones through my welding supplier.

Drako, sounds like you are off to a great start. Look at the BP section and make yourself some tongs. The first pair will not be pretty but probably will be functional.

I wouldn't go 300 for a forge myself. I paid 100 for a complete Canady Otto 24x36 cast iron forge with the original blower. Of course depending on where you live pries vary greatly.

You can walk on a wooden leg. You can still pick things up with a prosthetic hand . BUT you can't see out of a glass eye. Note: NONE of the above is a good thing. Wear your safety equipment and take proper safety precautions.

One point it took me a long time to learn was do not underprice your work. Perceived quality is a big factor. People look at a nice hand made piece and pass because the price is low and they wonder why.

Gotta agree with Frosty on this one If you KNOW what you have to have for constructing the press and what it takes for proper welding THEN you are a welder.

S hooks are good. My students spent the first couple lessons squaring up round stock. Drawing a point ,Making the point back to round. Cutting off the finished point and starting all over.
