With respect to you all for your answers, I would like to offer a different perspective. Around the first part of June, my blacksmith shop burnt to the ground. The only things I recovered were my hammers, tongs, chisels and punches. Everything else was lost. This was my proceedure for shutting down the shop. I would tear down my fire and spread it across the top of the forge and sprinkle it with water. Next I would turn out the lights and do a visual inspection looking for any glowing embers anywhere. Then I went to the house. 3 Hours later, the shop was gone. My floor was gravel and the interior walls were concrete stucco. One small spark got into a wall and cost me all my equipment and building. I urge you all to not take this topic litely as my insurance did not cover it due to a clause in our policy. From now on, after I rebuild, all fires will be extinguished in a bucket of water and I will do a 30 minute fire watch prior to leaving the shop. Don't be in a hurry, it might save you a lot of heart ache.

This is trivial compared to some of the heart felt request I see here. Through my life I've tried to be a good husband, father, friend and christian to all I come in contact with. So I asking for prayers as to how God would want me to proceed. On Monday June 4, 2012, my blacksmith shop burned to the ground. After 3 days of sorting through the rubble I realize it was a total loss. At this stage in my life it would be very difficult to start from scratch, not because I don't want to, but I just don't know what to do. My request is simple. Let me start by saying I realize there are a lot of members here that are suffering worse than I am and my prayers go out to them. I still feel the need to ask you all to remember me and my family this Tuesday morning at 9 am Eastern. After being off work for 31 months, I will be having my disability hearing. Arial Salaviria stabilizes his own by placing the wood or bone in a air tight plastic bag with a small amount of resin. He then hooks the bag to a vacuum and puts negative pressure in the bag. The bag with wood and resin are placed in a sealed steel container and air pressure is piped in up to 150 psi. This is left for 24 hours. When removed the resin has penetrated the entire wood. Steve, Most military projectiles up to .50 caliber, if they are armour piercing, are chrome moly. Rocket nose cones and RPG type explosives are 4140. Shrapnell from claymores and hand grenades are typically 52100. This may not always hold true due to the many different suppliers the military uses but this is a good example according to a friend of mine that works for the D.O.D.
