Charles R. Stevens
The mister heater unit is the turky fryer regulator I was refering to. It might work, as my forge scales heck out of stuff at 15 but I realy would go for the 30psi one like came from the factory.
Michael Cochran
Thanks for the suggestion and the help, Frosty. I put up a poll on the gas forges page let's see what happens. :)
Michael Cochran
I didn't see your post a minute ago, Charles. So far I have two votes for 30psi already lol Edited May 10, 2015 by M Cochran
Judson Yaggy
I ran a NC Whisper Daddy for around 10 years. Newer model than the one under discussion here but I could forge weld at 12psi. The burner tubes would get rusty now and then and run badly but that was the only maintenance issue I ever had with it.
Michael Cochran
Did you scrub the burner tubes or replace them? Mine has a little rust but it isn't enough to worry me right now. I was gonna try to get a bunch of it out of there but didn't have a clue how so I just left it.
jwilson645
Very nice, Mike. I thought about building a gas forge too but it hasn't made it to #1 on the "to do" list yet. What size MIG tip do you need? I have some .035 and .030.
Charles R. Stevens
Try shot gun cleaning brushes, of corse as It is mostly plumbing parts replacement is an option.
