jeremy k
Travis - That is a very nice presentation, thumbs up. I have not seen a header made that way - simple ways are sometimes to simple to see unless someone shows you !!!. - JK
Travis Covington
That's the way they were made in Colonial times, so we're told. Vince did a fantastic job on the photo's. We hope to do that with all our classes in the future. Travis

Johnny Woolsey
Neat video! I am curious as to the final drifting for the nail size. In the video this was done from the back side. I did my first header from the top and if I don't leave enough material it would squeeze though. Seems like drifting from the rear would solve this problem? ChrisB
Nice and simple! Give that man a barley pop. And another to the person that did the video.
Travis Covington
Sorry for the delay. I had to contact one of the people from the class for info. The handle was made from a piece of 3/4 mild with the actual header part being from a railroad clip. The hole was punched nearly thru from the rear with the round punch and then the hole was finished from the front with the drift. The size of the nail is 8 penny or 1/4 x 3/16 aproximate. The nail size is only part of the way in so that it will release easily. Note the punch and drift were made during the class. I hope this helps. I will try to get the answers to any further questions. Travis
