New 20 ton Press

Featured Replies

I just finished my 20 ton forging press. Not counting my scrap steel in the frame, I spent about $130.

No pictures Hmmmm. You want us to believe don't you?

How are you powering it, pump max psi, flow rate, bypass psi, ram speed, etc. Details JD details!

Frosty The Lucky.

I spent around $700 on the other-than -steel components when I built my 12 ton, e.g., ram, pump, tank, hoses, valve, fittings, etc.  Then a few hundred on the steel itself.  So you done good!  Where did you scrounge your components.

Pictures or videos please.

Positive AND negative Neil.

Putting the Squeeze in, to Create de-Tales.  LOL

People forget that a Hydraulic Thing, is rated in "Pounds per square Inch". This means that if the working edge is only "square 1/2", then the rating is Double. If you are pushing with a tip/edge of a Wedge that is only 1/10th of a "square inch", then your work is 10 times the rating. The point I am trying to make VERY CLEAR, the potential of a blunt object 'Projectile', is not to be sluffed off!! Safety Glasses will not save you!! The Projectile will/may be travelling faster than the Human can See!! Hopefully you still may have the ability to SEE!! The effort of a "Press", must be straight/Verticle to the Press's Cylinder Center Line!! If it starts to kick sideways, even a little bit, the Bang will/may be catastrophic!!

Oh, That will Never Happen to Me...........Until it Does. Then it is TOO Late!!
