January 20, 20251 yr I found this on a bench in my shop quite a while ago. I know it's an accessory for something, but for the life of me I can't remember or figure out what it went to. I've been holding onto it, though. The R looks like a trademark. Google image search said it was a xanax tablet. Any clues? I wasn't sure where to put this topic, but knowing what this goes to will solve a mystery.
January 20, 20251 yr From the picture I would guess that is a water bottle holder for a Raleigh bicycle. Keep it fun, David
January 20, 20251 yr Author Haha. I guess I should have put a coin in the picture for size reference. The wheel thingy is smaller than a dime.
January 21, 20251 yr Ok, here is my guess. Looks like some sort of guide for a table saw, band saw, maybe a router or something similar.
January 21, 20251 yr Those two bends on the left sort of suggest pegboard though it wouldn't support much of anything. Perhaps something related to a phone holder, though clearly not complete. Sadly, it looks more like another random bit of junk for the scrap pile. --Larry
January 21, 20251 yr Author Tightening the white knob does cause it to clamp down on something. I was hoping I'd stumble across some tool that had the same finish. No joy. But the R logo...that's the key.
January 21, 20251 yr My thought was that it would clamp onto the spring looking piece and the purpose of that is to cinch up some strap or straps.
January 21, 20251 yr Ryobi 100% - as to what it is? No idea but my school uses their brand alot for our woodwork & im 99% sure ive seen it on a saw table before
January 21, 20251 yr My wife may have just solved it. She said it looks like a band saw blade guide. I can’t control the wind, all I can do is adjust my sails ~ Semper Paradus~
January 21, 20251 yr Author Lee, I played around with it and couldn't find a way that the water bottler holder-looking thing fit in or on the clamping dealy. Ebin, I do agree that it looks identical to the R in Ryobi. Thanks! Irondragon, that's seems like a good guess, but the round disc is fixed; doesn't roll. I do have the following Ryobi tools: cordless 23 ga. pinner, cordless caulking gun, cordless hot glue gun, and cordless leaf blower. It seems overly complicated for a belt hook for the pinner., but at least it's a beginning.
