help advice construction of a swing-type portal stand transportable use of a hoist frame

Hi, for personal use we would like to make an iron frame similar to a swing stand portal, transportable, to be carried on a truck and used to load it. Could you kindly give us some advice some technical construction suggestions thanks.

Do you mean like a jib crane that swings out and then swings the load back in to the truck bed?
if so what are you lifting?

Because you can make a light one that can fit into the trailer hitch that’s already bolted to the frame of the truck, then when your done just pull the pin and remove the crane

but if your talking about lifting something REALLY heavy the cranes I’ve looked at are hooked into frame of trucks with extremely heavy duty plates and reinforcing,

The gantry crane in your pictures I don’t think would help lift something off the ground into the bed off the truck and also a steel one wouldn’t be very portable IMG_1760.thumb.jpeg.7abc9b1497d9a6c59bdf8ca2237c5686.jpeg

Good to see you posting again Angiolino. I believe Billy covered your question well enough for us to narrow things down so we can make good suggestions.

We need to know how much weight you wish to lift. The ones Billy shows are probably safe lifting 300kg. maybe more if you shorten the boom arm.

A lot depends on your truck is the bed open or is it covered like in the third picture above?

A real benefit of the way the one in the second illustration is they can be taken apart easily to transport with the load. That particular one can be mounted either on the right or left rear of the truck, depending on how you assemble it on site.
