Anvil set up and made some tools

Featured Replies

I got the new anvil set up a couple days ago.  I haven't done anything with the edges yet.  Taking crazy goat ladies advise to use it and see where I want to work on it.

Then yesterday I made a couple tools.  First one is a hold fast for the anvil.  I used 3/4" round.  The round hole in this anvil is big.  The tool is real big for this little anvil, but it works great and I can angle it to have the piece right over the hardy hole when I need to.  The second tool is a bending wrench made with 1/2" rebar.  One end has a 1" gap and the other is 1/2".

Glad to see you're getting situated. I can't wait to see more work from you. That hold fast is a very handy critter to have. I have one I made and I can't find it, so I'll have to make another one. The bending wrench will be a good tool to have as well. Anxiously awaiting more posts!

Given that the half-on-half-off round hole is pretty useless as a pritchell hole, you could just store the hold-down in it when not in use.

You might find it better to make two bending forks rather than one double-ended one; they'd be easier to drop into and retrieve from a tool rack.
