I Forge Iron

Recommended Posts

So over the past few weeks I have been getting ready to go out to take a summer class, and I wanted to make my mess kit for this trip. I made two spoons and a knife, and made both my bowl and my mug out of ceramic.

i thought I would share! The knife is my very first one. It is lopsided and silly, but functional.

I LIKE it but I don't see a lopsided silly knife. I'm feeling like I'm missing out, I like silly. <sniff>

I'll bet meals will taste better than ever.

That looks SO much better than my first knife.
did cut out the shape of the large spoon then raise or hammer the bowl over into shape.
I real like the lil spoon I want to make one now. What did u finish the spoons with.

I remember the first fork I made I was so thrilled I used it to eat all my food on a camping camping trip probably made it take twice as long it had 2 toothpick sized tines and was about as wide as my index finger.

your utensils look a bit more functional (;

Enjoy!

IMO, not too bad at all.  The thick handle moves the point of balance back so that the knife will sit nicely in the hand, a good thing for a table knife.  And you have a nice distal taper.  I've seen and made a lot worse.
