Good morning all, it is to be hoped this finds you and yours well.  I interested in finding what the mechanism is and what it is used for on the end of the main shaft on the 400 pictured below. Pictures in use would be great.  tks grant

Some models of champion 400s came with a shaft to run them off of a flat belt line shaft set up,

Ive got a pile of 400s but it haven’t found one of those yet!

I've got one that has the line shaft pulley on one side (as well as an idler pulley) and a handle on the other.  It's listed as the 400-1/4 in the Champion Catalog.  The 400-1/2 runs off either the handle or an electric motor via a pulley sticking out from the fan shaft.

Yes, there are three dots next at the top right of a post.  click on them, select edit post make your changes and save.

There is a time limit it's gotten longer a while ago but IIRC it's less than a day.
