triw Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I have a buffalo forge electric blower from the very early 1900's. It still has the oprignal reastate I had to clean it and do some work but it still works. Quote
Sam Falzone Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 I had to vote with AC electric. My main forge is the one in my classroom - it's a Wayne NG forge with electric blower. But I also have a charcoal forge for re-enactment demos and those use a side-by-side double lung (bag) bellows. aeneas Quote
John Martin Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 I have an electric Champion 400, but want to switch to a hand cranked blower, and might me able to. ;) Quote
1860cooper Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Yeah, well you guys just saw my C400 crank blower. I like Jayco's idea of strapping an electric fan to it temporarily. I might have to do that. I'm probably going to go with a bellows for reenactment stuff. Haven't decided what bellows will suit me yet, course, I haven't decided what forge either so I guess I have a ways to go on that front. Quote
forgeman Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I have hand crank blowers on my shop forge and my portable forge . Forgeman Quote
Dave Shepard Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 There is a 6' double acting bellows were I demo, and I have a hand crank Champion rivet forge. I also have an as yet unscrutinized electric forge blower at a friends house. May be using this for a small foundry activity, it's supposed to be big. Dave Quote
ptree Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Hand crank on the shop and demo coal forges. AC blower on one propane forge, naturally aspirated on smaller second forge. Quote
