Seriously, hummers are attracted to red, a little food coloring in the nectar or paint on the feeder or bracket. It only has to be close to the feeder and they'll zero right in. Frosty The Lucky. Arkans Posted December 11, 2022 Share Posted December 11, 2022 Frosty, traditionally the red food coloring is added but trust me they like it just fine with or without the food coloring..... before I stopped feeding them here they swarmed my feeders with out the coloring. The Hummers at my house still fly up to my porch and give me stink eye cause i have not put out a feeder in a few years...
