If it's a cost issue then you'll be wanting to join the local smithing organization and schmooze it up with other members. You'll find blacksmiths are usually more than willing to help someone out. If not there wouldn't be any clubs. Just watching someone who knows what they're doing is major education and being able to ask questions is BIG. Take notes and pics! Frosty The Lucky.
