Jordon Bigelow
Hello, I am starting to blacksmith. I currently have a hole in the ground that I want to do a side-blast coke forge with. I need coke though. I don't know where I can get some locally here in Utah. I saw that there is a place down in Spanish Fork. Christensen Brothers. They are a little far from me as I live in Tooele. I was wondering if any of you have found suppliers in Salt Lake City or thereabouts. Any help would be much appreciated.
Daswulf
Could always make charcoal on the cheap with free materials as fire wood or pallets. Charcoal works great in a side blast forge.
Frosty
Welcome aboard Jordon, glad to have you. If you'll put your general location in the header you might be surprised how many of the gang live within visiting distance. Just telling us once isnt going to stick in anybody's memory once we move onto another post. Look in the Yellow Pages, NOT ONLINE, the REAL paper Yellow Pages for farrier supplies or a farrier/horse shoer. It they don't have any in stock they'll know who does. If you have your heart set on using coke you may HAVE to make the drive. There are alternatives. Frosty The Lucky.
