David Kailey
Scored big with this one. The pic is at a bad angle but it is a full 7" vise. It has a oiled gold patina from the anti rust coating they use to put on them. This thing is gorges. Its a #140 7" vise it makes my #125 6" look tiny. Honestly I cant believe I found a 7" vise let alone an indian chief. It show so little sign of use I am shocked. What are your thoughts on value and rarity? I picked up 7" 6" 5 3/4 vises 2 champ 10" 400 blowers and a champ 8" blower. Cost me $900.
HammerMonkey
Wow, nice score! I think the price is good for all of that. Especially up here in the NW.
beaudry
I have a 7'' Columbian which is good for some things but a bit heavy and slow for most of the work that I do. My main vise is a 5 1/2'' Indian Chief that I like for it's nearly perfect size and heavy construction. As a result, I've worn out the screw box and had to built a new one to replace it. Those two as well as an 4 1/2'' Iron City vise are the only ones that I have that have a makers mark. Anyway , it sounds as if you made a good score for all that for $900. Let's see the rest of the pile.

ThomasPowers
Every shop should have at least one excessively large vise mounted excessively well for "excessive" work needs. Having a smaller faster vise for regular work is a good idea too. I like to have 1 of each mounted at differents ends of my work benches. I also have a large vise attached to the shop framework (telephone pole set 5' into subsoil and concreted in). Lovely vise; my largest is only a 6.5" Columbian ---but I bought it at Quad-State one year for US$50 in good working shape but needing the spring and mounting brackets. (It's the one tied into the building). I am so lucky that I tooled up in Central Ohio back before the prices went crazy! (And before I moved to tool poor NM)
