The Alchemist
Is there any way to clean flux from a dense ceramic floor in my gas forge?
ThomasPowers
thousands of ways: laser ablation, sand blasting, grinding---many will be more expensive than replacement. Of course it will depend a lot on what was in the flux; there is more than one type you know. Some people have suggesting using a tray of clay based kitty litter to catch flux and prevent it from getting to the floor to help avoid that issue in the first place. The Alchemist
It was z-weld flux.
Frosty
Is the flux dissolving the forge floor? If not leave it till there's enough to scrape it off while molten. Borax based fluxes are water soluble but you probably don't want to soak your forge in water. Frosty The Lucky.
