I Forge Iron

Hey From Sask.

Recommended Posts

Hey all, been lurking here for a while, figured I'd introduce myself, name's Jared. I haven't done much of anything regarding blacksmithing but I'm looking forward to getting started.

I've got my grandfather's anvil that I found buried in the back of a shed and a little charcoal forge made from a stainless bowl, some very simple homemade refractory cement and a electric air pump. It seems to work quite well. I've plans to build a propane forge once I have some time and experience.

Anyways it's a pleasure to be on this page and I look forward to continue to read all the great information on here.

Welcome aboard Jared, glad to have you. We LOVE pictures and would like a gander at your Grandfather's anvil and a couple shots of your charcoal forge. Maybe one of it empty and cold so we can see how you put it together and one of it heating a piece of steel or cooking a burger.

You're sounding like you're going to fit right in here. Know any good jokes?

Frosty The Lucky.
