Benton Frisse
Hey Folks! I found some great reference material in the Knife Making Classes section... I learn something new each time I go there! I didn't see much on finishing micarta, however. What's your guys favorite way to finish micarta? Do you polish it up? Do you leave it rough? I've been sanding to a 200 grit and hitting it with a light coat of mineral oil to make the layers really pop... but I'm not too happy with my finish. Thanks! C-1ToolSteel
I guess it just depends on what I'm going for. I've done polished and rough.

C-1ToolSteel
I've never bead blasted it before, but I have seen bead blasted micarta. Super grippy, but it holds dirt.
ThomasPowers
When I worked under the swordmaker a good grip was a major feature and he used to bead blast a lot of stuff. The other way for some knives was buffed with a colour appropriate compound.
