Very cool film. Last company to be hand making axes to supply the lumbermen in Maine. If I ever see one someplace I'll sure buy it.

A fascinating look at old time manufacture. What a pity it could not survive the modern economy, now days I bet there would be a market for these axes.

I have always liked this video. Think I recorded a copy about 6 years when it first was uploaded.

My favorite part as a pipe smoker and blacksmith is at 5:02 when he lights his pipe with the hot axe head after it came out of the forge, and before he starts hammering. Classic!

Cool right..  One of those custom things..   Some of the power hammer makers used to sell a part that was attached to the power hammer for welding of wagon tires..  It looks to me like they adapted one of those to this machine.   Or figured out how to make their own adaption. 

I'm often surprised even now how little it can take sometimes to move that metal to that just right spot if done correctly.
