Smithy.Travis
Has anyone ever worked in a plastic shed before? Thoughts on it? I worked in ne for a good while and have since upgraded to the steel shed adjacent to the plastic. From constantly welding and grinding to forging and forge-welding and everything else that goes on, the only problem I ever had was if I dropped a piece of steel that was hot the floor would begin melting... but other than that, she worked like a charm! Ridgewayforge
I wouldn't ever forge in a plastic shed- why tempt fate every time a bit of scale flies off and begins to melt pieces here and there? Its asking for poisoning from plastic fumes...
ThomasPowers
I'd worry about the plastic becoming brittle fast in a high UC climate
JHCC
By way of demonstration, this is what happened yesterday when some hot coals fell out of my forge and into a plastic basin that I had left a bit too close.
