stan
Made out of 316 stainless, I was reminded that this stuff is really tough, and hard to forge and twist. Ok for this but I would not use it for a heavy duty tool.
ausfire
Looks like a pretty heavy duty barby fork to me, mate. Our local steel supplier gave me a length of 10mm stainless rod (don't know the number) and I forged a leaf hook from it. Could have done three in mild steel in the time it took. Nice finish but hard work ay?
stan
that's right ausfire that was made out of 12mm, I believe its cold work hardened but then again I`m no expert.

Frosty
Still pretty heavy duty but it's a LOT easier to forge SS thick than trying to thin it down a lot. I've made toasting forks from 304 SS and it's a PITA working it in the proper forging range. It got to where I was forging tines individually to stay in temp range and not ruin it. Nice piece, I appreciate all the work it represents, going to make more? Frosty The Lucky.
