guygitelis
A couple of months ago i posted a thread here about a 30Kg russian power hammer with a synchronization problem. it's now working pretty well and i got just a little more tweaking to do. really cool mechanism, haven't seen anything like it on any other power hammer. check it out. njanvilman
Couple of questions: 1. Is it all mechanical 'behind the curtain'. Talking about what kind of drive in in that column. 2. Is there an automatic oiler for the cylinder area of the hammer part, or is it manually oiled? What do you use?
guygitelis
hmmm it's hard to explain. i need to take a picture of it. there isn't an automatic oiler, it has grease nipples everywhere but i oil it with oil for moving parts in machines like lathes and mills. VaughnT
Very nice bit of kit. I love how contained the whole thing is.
E.F. Thumann
Not knowing what the internal mechanism of the hammer is, if there is a "slack belt clutch" setup inside, and the motor is 3 phase, you may be running it reversed. When the clutch is on the drive side of the belt, the treadle is harder to push, and can "pump" like it seems to in the video. Just a thought, I could be entirely wrong. guygitelis
E.F Thumann, there is no clutch in the mechanism. i should post a short video on it. it's pretty interesting.
Dan P.
They sell a similar looking hammer at Angele.de. Looks pretty cool!
guygitelis
Dan. P, could you send me a link?

guygitelis
http://www.angele-shop.com/shop/de/federhammer-m-60 isn't that an air hammer?
Dan P.
No, it is the same spring mechanism as yours, just with a guard. This mechanism is/was popular in Italy. I am interested in the clutch on yours, because this type of hammer is very artful in its simplicity; very little to go wrong, not much that can't be fixed. Judson Yaggy
Yikes, 13k Euro! That's an expensive spring hammer, looks like it costs more than some of the self contained they are selling. I too would like to see a video of the mechanism when you get a chance. Thanks.
