Glenn
Hair dryers can work, so can heater fans from automobiles. Suggest you start by Clicking HERE Start at #1 and work your way up.
John Martin
I use a hair dryer that is super powerful and has three settings, it works plenty well.
jimbob
Thats what I used for the first one I built ...it will get you going, just don't take it back in and let your wife dry her hair with it like I did...seems they don't like the smell of coal on their hair! I don't know why not!

welder19
The only dumb questions are the ones not asked, or the ones asked when you already know the answer to but are to lazy too put the thought into to answer it yourself. No need to apoligize for being a beginer, we were all one before and some still are. Welcome to the forum. welder19

Hunterbow Smithy
Bushi, A word of caution: be sure that you are using good quality coal (or better yet coke). When I first got started, I bought some crappy high sulphur content coal from a so-called reputable vendor and had a terrible time with it. Best of luck, Chad
