My personal bag axe that Ive carried with my muzzleloading gear..About 12" overall and weighs just under 16 ounces with handle..

 

Very handsome. Seems like a useful size. I take it the edge profile is middle of the range for an all around tool as opposed to just being used for splitting? The wood is pretty as well, what is is it?

Awesome little ax! Would you mind sharing your process with us? I've been wanting to make a small pack ax like this for a while. I've seen people make the Hudson Bay belt ax that is only about a 3 or 4 inch head, looks like a mini Gransfors Bruk. But I like this style a lot!
