TABarton
I came upon this cutter while pilfering thru some old tools of my deceased grandfather. I have saw several recognizable manufacturer's to me such Atha, Iron City, champion, etc. But I can't seem to find anything out about this one. I would greatly appreciate any info. that might be known. Also is there a website or registry of Tool makers from days of old that might share their symbols, emblems, logo's etc..and a brief history? Thanks and may GOD bless! Todd

Jim Coke
Greetings Todd, That could have been hand forged . The shield with the H could be a touch mark.. Forge on and make beautiful things Jim
JunkyardDogTucker
I've got a straight peen hammer with almost the same stamp. My first thought seeing it was that the maker is Husqvarna and its antique, but that's likely not correct. I really don't know.
Crazy Ivan
That's Hubbard's shield. I have a few hammers with that logo. -Crazy Ivan They seemed to have a contract with many of the long gone rail road companies like Pennsylvania Rail Road(PRR) and Baltimore and OHIO(B&O) because the hammers I own from those rail roads and all the ones I find from those rail roads all have the Hubbard stamp somewhere on them. That Is just an observation though.
TABarton
I did see a hammer on Ebay that was listed as a Hubbard, but only had the H w/shield, and all the other Hubbard tools I have saw had HUBBARD but no H w/shield? I was curious to know if the seller knew what he had or just labeled it as a hubbard.....anyway, Thanks for all the replies I really appreciate everyones input!
