Bmt1234
So I picked up a #53 at the flea market. I picked it up for 125$. My question is, is this a rare anvil, I have never seen one before. I am also having trouble finding the I.d mark on it. Where should I look on the anvil.
ThomasPowers
Well I have a Ford car; can you tell me if it's a rare one? What would you need to be able to answer *my* question? In general we will need to know the same sort of things about your anvil. How did you know it was an HB if you didn't see an ID? HBs should have the name on the side. Bmt1234
Sorry I was unclear. It says hay budden Brooklyn ny, ny Then it says 53. I was talking about the manufacturing number.
Marksnagel
BMT, Could you add a photo of the anvil please? Have you taken a whire wheel to it yet. If you lightly wire wheel it you may remove enough rust/gunk/paint etc to show up some marks. Mark <><
njanvilman
The serial number, if not rusted or worn off, is located on the front base, under the horn. If you can read the numbers, we can help you figure out a manufacturing date.
