digger9523
Once years ago i saw something like this, and thought i must do that some day..... So this evening saw me in the garage for an hour or two........ This one is pretty lame, but I'll definitely do some more, especially with Christmas fast approaching! Where has the year gone? :)
digger9523
Haha! I thought this had been deleted! Posted it in members projects, wouldn't have dared put it in this section! Gave it a clean up at work today: Not sure which finish I favour?
Chad Warwick
What is the deal with that anvil? It has a unique look to her. Good job on the rose bro, have any pictures from the build?
Glenn
Can you please post photos of that anvil? Nice rose. Try one out of copper if you get a chance. Or brass
John McPherson
Pretty sure that is copper, it has that fire scale look on top of the cast iron anvil/vise. Then it looks like he sandblasted it clean, which actually looks more like the velvety texture of real rose petals. Interesting indeed! You can get some interesting pink and purple hues by dipping HOT, clean copper or brass in a solution of borax in water. Or, just taking a torch and heating it to get the oxidation colors to run. Try any new technique on some scrap first. When cool and dry, protect the finish with some clear acrylic spray paint.

Hyper Iron
I really like the way you did the petals. Very impressive.
digger9523
Thanks again folks. Played with one of the heads this evening.... Going to give it a sand blast at work tomorrow to see how it looks that way. :)
digger9523
Cleaned up alongside a rememberance Poppy:
poppaclutch
Nice rose. Stem is too thin. Twist up your own 'Bob War' out of some solid copper wire.
