October 7, 201312 yr Author Well I used Galvanized spring steel and I have lined it with a piece of leather. It goes together with a leather glove I made a while back. Ill fiddle with it a bit and post a pic of the finished piece. What do you mean by closure?
October 7, 201312 yr I do Not know about "Galvanized spring steel" However they look about like a (Aluminum washer) and at Best they Could Be Galvanized coated washers however they are not Rough enough for " Galvanized spring steel" as to what I have ever seen or Bought, I have used them before in mechanic work , the military and civilian as well ! What does the single gantlet weigh in pound or oz 's sir ? Sam
October 7, 201312 yr Author These are spring washers bought from a hardware store and are definitely spring steel and not Alu, it weighs 2.2 lb. I made a shirt from the same material which weighs in at 14 kg which ill create a new post on later on today as well as the coif I made also from the same material which is 4 kg.
October 9, 201312 yr By closure I ment how do you seperate it to put it on. are you going to put on buckles, ties, or snaps. It looks like you pull it over you hand in those pics. It also lookis like it would slide down to your wrist when you swing your arm.
October 14, 201312 yr Author Here is my final outfit, you can see the bracer with its glove on my right hand. It has leather underneath it which prevents it from sliding up and down my arm, and it is fastened with a leather string that is woven into the two loose sides.
