IronStriker
Hello, I am just getting into blacksmithing, and I made a forge in my backyard. When I made this forge, I didn't have the foresight to put a blower pipe up through the bottom. Does this matter, or can I just use a hair dryer on the top? If it does matter, could someone please post a good design on how to make a through the bottom blower.
Steve Sells
there are many plans in both blue prints and the forge sub section of this forum, I will relocate this post to the solid fuel forges area.
VaughnT
If it's brick and mortar, it would be short work with a hammer and chisel to chip through the mortar joint so you can pull a few bricks free.

If you'll put your general location in your header you might be pleasantly surprised to find out how many of the gang here live within visiting distance. Don't over think your forge, you'll spend WAY more time than is good for you trying to get your first one perfect. Build one that works and as you learn the craft you'll begin to find out what you really need. Over thinking things at first is an occupational hazard, been there done that. Frosty The Lucky.
