DennisG
Came across this while surfing, hope it is informative if not entertaining. Tony Swatton of Sword & Stone takes us through the process of making Jaime Lannister's sword from Game of Thrones. http://www.break.com/man-at-arms/Forging-Game-of-Thrones-Sword/

Daniel.85
The funny part is all the comments under that video, lots of armchair swordsmiths out there lol.
Timothy Miller
I have met Tony a few times he is a fun guy to hang out with. Remember he is making props for movies not historicaly accurate blades. Its funny how wrapped up in this stuff people get. And yes he should bolt down that hammer. Gundog48
Having read the books I can see where the commenters are getting their blacksmithing knowledge from! They are always making references to how Valyrian steel blades are 'folded back on themselves' like pattern welded steel. Low and behold, everyone is saying it's not a good sword because he didn't 'fold it back on itself'. It's rather amusing, not to mention that this would not be a Valyrian steel blade anyway.I mean, he didn't even spell-forge it, is he even trying? K. Bryan Morgan
The part about the blood groove was particularly amusing. Seems that myth just refuses to die.
scjohnson243
I thought that too, Bryan - As far as I have read the "blood groove" is to save metal and make the sword lighter... But, the idea in the video sounds much cooler. :) I enjoyed watching it - I've never forged a sword, (or even knife yet) so its nice to see different methods!
