jmccustomknives
Score. Most Fishers I've seen have a weight on them, this one has a 20. I think it's about 200lbs, I can't lift it by myself. I also scored a post vice. Got it for a great price and am happy. Now I've got to build a stand and figure out how to get it on the stand. Daniel.85
Very nice! clean it up with a wire brush and oil then show us more pics. The edges look great too, I'll never buy an anvil again with worn out edges.
VaughnT
That's a great looking anvil! I'm partial to Fisher's myself for their quietness and innovative design. Looks like you got a very good example, too. That flat face, clean horn and sharp edges will serve you well for the next hundred years. Cant' wait to see her cleaned up and oiled. I'll bet she's even prettier than you can imagine.
C.D. Mitchell
Nice find! A wire brush wheel on an angle grinder does wonders. I'm working on cleaning up a 305lb. anvil currently....that's a lot of surface area to cover 1 square inch at a time, but the end result is worth it. Nothing like making a century old piece of history look like new again...and then using it!
