Kevin McDowell Posted August 29, 2012 Share Posted August 29, 2012 Hello community, This is my first anvil I picked up yesterday. It is a 160 lb. Trenton, 27.5" L x 11.25" H x 2.5" W. Still researching building a detached shed and looking at Centaur Forges possible for a coal forge. I am eager to learn as much as I can. Bentiron1946 Posted August 30, 2012 Share Posted August 30, 2012 Make your own forge and save some money. A lot of us have made our own over the years, both coal fired and gas fired. If you live in close proximity to others a gas fired may be better than a coal fired forge as the smell of burning coal can sure raise the ire or your close neighbors. Can it ever!
