March 10, 200719 yr Kallsme'n- that is one AWESOME ring!! Great photos, brother. Thanks for sharing. What do you think your heat reached accomplishing this? And what is this for?
March 11, 200719 yr I do good just forging something around 1/2"-3/4" around. I can't imagine the heat this thing put off while you were working it. I was wondering what it is for also.
March 11, 200719 yr Kallsme’n, Thank You for the post. Sharing your photos with us is a part of what makes IFI interesting and informative. I am half Swedish. So maybe I could forge something half as large as that. “Just kidding”. Ted Throckmorton (English) Mothers side = Jensen (Swedish) Thanks again! Be safe!
March 11, 200719 yr Working in (rather than on) big steel! I like it. Did this a few weeks ago, similar. Similar and identical are similar, but they are not identical.
March 11, 200719 yr Tyler, You amaze me, but never surprise me! I love to see the things you create! Be safe! Ted
March 11, 200719 yr Roger - why not forge it to a hex shape on the outside so there is less machining to be done? - JK
