February 10, 201214 yr I have had this for a while, can someone tell me more about it. I think it might be a mousehole. It also has "warranted" stamped under the face. Thanks!
February 10, 201214 yr Last I heard Postman has identified over 200 different anvil makers in Old England. Could be from any of them. We just see Mouseholes more frequently in America than the others.

February 13, 201214 yr Hi it is a carriage makers anvil and yes it had a horn it is a little younger than this one.
February 13, 201214 yr Postman published the book "Anvils in America", published a work just on the Mousehole Forge and is supposed to be publishing a revised and updated Anvils in America with a lot of the makers he has learned about since the first one---so I think you could say it's available. Also if you take an anvil to one of the Conferences he goes to he will graciously give his expert opinion on it---he named one of the anvils on my wall of shame that was missing everything above the waist last Quadstate. (A PW based on foot ledges and number stamping style...)
February 14, 201214 yr I have "Anvils in America" but not the one on the Mousehole Forge. I have a couple of Old English & Colonial style anvils that I would love to ID someday.
February 15, 201214 yr ive read anvils in america a bit and i dont think its a mouse hole because there would be deep punch marks between the numbers.
