Wind Chapman Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 There is an older gentleman down here with a 500 lb Peter Wright for sale. H said he welded up the face a bit but I can't find any seams, dings, dents, or any thing else wrong. He has it up for sale for $1,500. Is anyone else tempted by this? Quote
monstermetal Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Sounds like a good deal if you need a big anvil. Quote
Wind Chapman Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 Sounds like a good deal if you need a big anvil.I think so too. I thought about buying it and reselling it, then thought I would just tell people it's for sale. Quote
ironstein Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Seems like a good deal to me. After buying a new fontanini 460#, i am a believer in large anvils, such a pleasure to work on. Quote
ThomasPowers Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I'll stick with my 515# Fisher I bought in *mint* condition for $350. Quote

My big anvil is good for many things, but if I have to stretch something in a hurry, my little 90 lb is hard to beat! My main shop anvil is a 300 wt Euroanvil. Quote
ThomasPowers Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 I bought my Fisher in the late 1990's at Columbus OH, found inside city limits. Quote
