Hofi
This stand was commissioned for a collector of ancient jars this jar is 3000 year old and its value is 10000$ THE idea of the design is to show the beauty and grace of the jar without interfering in the jar form ,to hold it from the bottom and let it ''fly'' upwards. I also show here how I use big magnets to hold the parts together . The use of the magnet is some thing that I use very often i many places that I have to put parts together when one works alone HOFIhttp://picasaweb.goo.../AnticJarStand2

pkrankow
Is this the same jar and stand from the now missing blueprints? Is that a textured collar or wrappings at the joint? Is the joint welded before applying the collar or wrappings? Did you design the stand to flex and settle under load to make it level and stable, or is the stand rigid enough to require adjustment before loading? I was reading some of your posts from several years ago and your written English has improved significantly. Thank you for taking the time to share. Double Y
Hofi, I just spent more time than I expected pouring over the photos you have on Picassa. Thank you so much for putting those photos up. They are very inspiring. All the best, John
Bentiron1946
That stand it very understated which is nice since it doesn't distract from the amphora. Nicely done!
