brianbrazealblacksmith
Here are some boarding axes that LDW and I forged today. These pics are just after forging, no grinding yet. The miniature one was forged from 2 1/2" of 3/4" W2. The second was forged from 3 1/2" of 1 1/4" jack hammer bit. The largest was forged from 3 5/8" of 1 5/8" 4140. Nakedanvil - Grant Sarver
Goldilocks syndrome: The pike on the 4140 axe looks "just right" to me. Pretty dang cool Brian. Like the blade on that one better too.

Lyle,LDW, thought they'd like them. We'll be demoing them. Here is the info for the Feb. darksaber
Very cool Brian. I really like the looks of them. Am I correct in thinking that you did the eye for the axes basically the same way you do a hammer eye?
brianbrazealblacksmith
They were forged exactly like the hammers except we forged two different tapers on the ends, so it took a little bit longer.

ThomasPowers
"is that a new blacksmithing book I haven't seen yet?" No it's a fictional naval series set during the Napoleonic wars. (Very good BTW)
