November 19, 200916 yr I took a 2 day blacksmith class a year ago. Have been in the shop as time permits. Ive made a couple of knives several tomahawks The is Idea keep bugging me. The praying mantis is made out of a railroad spike. The dragonfly is made out of a piece of 1in bar the wings are 3/8 rod hammered flat. I colored the body with my torch and then clearcoat and mount on chunks of old hedge post. Please give me some feed back thanks

November 19, 200916 yr I like the skitter hawk too. Nice texture on the wings. Don't feel disappointed that the mantis didn't get that many votes, it just because dragon flies are more dramatic looking to begin with.
