CurlyGeorge
Well, I finally had a job that required me to make an impression stamp. A lady asked me to make four new wheels to replace some missing ones on an old cast steam locomotive that used to belong to her father. I had to cut the wheels from 3/4 inch round stock, because that was all the clearance that I had. Then I made a tear drop shaped stamp to make impressions in the wheels. That is supposed to make the wheels look like they have spokes, similar to the drive wheels. I stamped them cold and heated them to darken the color. Not perfect. But she was very happy with the end results.
Don A
Looks good. Reminds me of a day when nice things were fixed instead of thrown out... and often times the replacement part was better than the original. Great work. Don

Frosty
Very nice George. They look good, like they belong but NOT like you tried too duplicate the originals. This is a restoration that won't hurt the value of the piece while it restores it's spirit. Well done. Frosty

CurlyGeorge
Thanks for the encouraging words, everyone. Now that I sorta know how to make a punch, I'm going to expand on that with a few more, and do some experimenting. :)
