brucegodlesky Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Nice start RRavan Next time , I would go with a little higher carbon mix. Pretty neat when see that pattern come out for the first time, eh?? Quote
trying-it Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Congrats on your first born. As Bruce said a few layers of a higher carbon material will result in darker, more dramatic contrasting colors. But you definately have a keeper there and 1 to be proud of!!! Have fun and BE safe! Quote
kevin (the professor) Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 It is a nice first pattern-weld. I think this is an enthralling process, and you will probably fall in love with it. Keep up the good work. Kevin Quote
Rravan Posted June 19, 2009 Author Posted June 19, 2009 just so you know the 15N20 was obtained from an old bandsaw blade. also this mix was recomended to me by a professional knife maker, dose not mean he is correct, and i am sure that there are alot of professional knife makers here too. and thanks for your input. and yes finding the patern was amaing, i could see it as i was tempering.:D Quote
