RICKOFF
Hi All, Having been a carpenter, woodworker and general contractor for the last 35 years and now have the time to try something new. Not knowing much about metal working I thought I would try my hand at making knives out of old saw blades and if it goes well maybe a small forge later on. I come here seeking information, ideas and knowledge. Rick
781
Welcome to the group Cal has a well established blacksmithing group Knives from saw blades sounds like stock removal and most of the responses you will find here are about hot working but learn as much as you can and ask ?s as that is the way we all learn

RICKOFF
Thanks for the welcome, right now I have the tools to grind and file a blade into submission. As soon as I am able to find a suitable location for a forge I'll .... well you know what comes next! Rick
trying-it
Welcome to IfI. Yep what comes next is the need for a bigger building to hold your new tools and equipment collection, but that will keep your other skills and talents from getting rusty!!!
